March

 February - March - April

Open Mic

Top east-facing section finished except for fascia.

Work on the house has begun.

Inspiration for my nest shelf, seen on FB.

What a nice day to make some sawdust. Doing it the old-school way here, not for any other reason than I couldn't find my power saw, didn't loan it to you did I?!
Got some use out of old ratty plywood, I bet it thought it would never get used for anything other than firewood. Now it's a porch Phoebe nest shelf. Mar. 25
Open mic at Kent Lanes.
The eloquent Deb Mallin always has nice things to say: "It seems, featured Gareth Ridout bringing what appears to have been this Gent Fest, which sweetly and inclusively shared the mic performing a song of testimony recalling their LAST NIGHT. Although lyric discloses the scenario went differently then perhaps the gents had aspired with the lady , the memory of it all remained one big enough to share.
So glad. Appreciation for the streaming by host Jesse Carter: such a brilliant little fun number and special moment of last night, too."

October 2022, vinyl-siding time-lapse (and a short tune I'd forgotten recording).

Mar. 23
Zoom call with my brothers. My background photo was taken from the roof last week. Edwin's photo is a bit more current: signs of spring in Virginia.

With my friend Dan at Kent Lanes open mic. Being St. Patrick's day the place was pretty noisy. I don't think any video was made of performances but it it was it wouldn't have been too great.

Around here (NE Ohio) American Tree Sparrows usually show up with the colder season. Maybe this one is passing through.
That dark marking on the breast says Tree Sparrow.

George Harrison songs that we actually performed, November 2007. Thanks to Dan's family who came out to support us, heard at the end of each song.

I heard you could use parchment paper in the toaster. Got my doubts, won't do that again.

Sunday Zoom with my brothers in dual monitors

Another multi-track flashback, this one from lockdown days, with Alan Nemeth. Muppet jokes aside (Dawn Stepp), it was a windy day, I've seen the fuzzy red wind-screen called a 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑐𝑎𝑡 in video circles.

So glad we're done with Jan/Feb! Now the shadows are definitely getting shorter and morning sun is hitting the end of the north-pointing yard-arm (AKA the strut). Bluebirds look so nice in that light, how could I resist?

Female Eastern Bluebird and Cardinal. I don't think she's waving or pointing - "He went thataway" - I think I just caught her before takeoff or after landing.
